Restaurants in Hongdae: N Thai (엔타이)

Looking around for something different to eat around the ubiquitous Hongdae (홍대) area, I stumbled across N Thai (엔타이), who enticed me with their lunch specials. I never tried Thai food in Korea, so I figured it was about time to see how it was served in another country. It’s usually fairly rare to see a Thai restaurant, but the lunch deal seemed too good to pass up. You can access it easily by going out of exit 9 of Hongdae Station (홍대입구역) and going into the building right on the left.  Continue reading “Restaurants in Hongdae: N Thai (엔타이)”

Cheap Eats: Hongdae Ice Cream Waffle Shack

As seen in my tour of Noryangjin, ice cream waffles are a pretty hot street food item. Especially during a nice day, I can’t resist getting one. The best ice cream waffles I know of are located in Hongdae, right next to the playground and the front of the campus. This place may be a tad hard to find as it doesn’t have a name, but if you go to the main entrance of Hongdae, it will be west of it. This place has by far the best ice cream waffles Continue reading “Cheap Eats: Hongdae Ice Cream Waffle Shack”

Cheap Eats in Seoul: 삘꼬치네 (Chicken Skewers)

One common street food that’s not really talked about is chicken skewers (닭꼬치). The quality really varies with the place you go to, but one of the best is hands down 삘꼬치네 nestled in Hongdae’s streets that specializes in small food stalls. One walk down this street and you’ll usually see much more people lined up here than any other place and with good reason. 삘꼬치네 is kind of a play on words with Continue reading “Cheap Eats in Seoul: 삘꼬치네 (Chicken Skewers)”

Seoul Cheap Eats: Mariwhale Macaron (마리웨일 마카롱)

Anyone looking to get their macaron fix should try Mariwhale Macaron. I came across this little store straight in front of exit 5 of the Hongdae University Station (홍댕역). It’s on the 2nd floor. These bite sized pieces of happiness typically go for quite a bit of money, but this place charges a comparatively reasonable 900 won per a macaron! Restaurants in Seoul: Yeti (예티) Indian Nepal Restaurant and Bar

I had massive Indian cravings so I went with my friend to Yeti (예티) to try and satisfy them. I was craving chicken tikka masala, which admittedly is one of the most typical things you can have at an Indian restaurant. Little did I know just how untypical Yeti would turn out to be! Continue reading “Restaurants in Seoul: Yeti (예티) Indian Nepal Restaurant and Bar”
